Did you know? Father’s Day was first celebrated in 1910 in Spokane, Washington, thanks to Sonora Smart Dodd, who wanted to honor her father, a Civil War veteran who raised six children alone. It wasn’t until 1972 that it became an official U.S. holiday!

And here’s a fun graduation fact: The tradition of tossing graduation caps started in 1912 at the U.S. Naval Academy. Before then, graduates had to return their caps, but once they were given their own, they joyfully tossed them into the air—a tradition that quickly spread worldwide!
